Higher Education Advisory Disclaimer

What the information on this website is - and what it is not.

AHEG Media publishes news, explainers, analysis and opinion about Australian higher education. Everything on this website is general information for the public record. It is not professional, legal, financial or regulatory advice, and it is not advice about any particular provider’s circumstances.

Regulatory decisions belong to the regulator

Registration of higher education providers, accreditation of courses of study and the grant of self-accrediting authority are decisions made by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) under the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011. Nothing published by AHEG Media grants, predicts or guarantees any regulatory outcome, and nothing here should be read as TEQSA’s view. AHEG Media and the wider AHEG family are independent of TEQSA; our publications are not endorsed by or affiliated with the regulator.

Framework content

Where we describe the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021, standard titles are quoted exactly and summaries are our own plain-English paraphrases. Always consult the authorised instrument text before acting: paraphrase is context, not law.

Analysis and opinion

Pieces labelled Analysis or Opinion are interpretation and argument, not statements of fact by AHEG Media. Claims of fact within them are held to our editorial standards and corrected when wrong, under our False Information & Defamation Policy.

Getting advice

If you need advice about your own provider, course or application, engage a qualified adviser about your specific circumstances. AHEG Media does not accept liability for decisions made in reliance on general information published here; see also our website Disclaimer.
